The plight of Steller sea lions and their declining populations is an issue that resonates with us. This is also the birthplace of whale activism. In the spirit of the Mendocino Whale Wars of the late 1960s and early 70s, North Coast Brewing is pledging our support to marine mammal research conducted in coastal areas throughout the Pacific.
For every case of North Coast Steller IPA sold, North Coast Brewing makes a contribution to marine mammal research.

Loral hops were released in 2016 and quickly became one of our brewers’ favorite varieties. It was highlighted in our single hop IPA series, Stone Hop Revolver IPA, and was the featured hop in the hugely popular Stone Ghost Hammer IPA. Then there’s Dr. Rudi, which has been around since 1976. Originally known as Super Alpha, this hop brings classic piney and herbal notes, which pairs it perfectly with the oral, citrusy aroma of Loral. A pairing like this was bound to happen. Some might even call it inevitable.
MAUMEE BAY-CHERRY VANILLA PORTER
This dark and delicious brew has light flavors of coffee and chocolate intertwined with caramel sweetness coming from the complex malt bill. The use of Madagascar vanilla and tart cherry juice further compliments this incredibly tasty and drinkable treat from Maumee Bay Brewing Co.

Brooklyn Black OPS
Barrel-aged in Woodford Reserve barrels. Brooklyn Black Ops does not exist. However, if it did exist, it would be a robust stout concocted by the Brooklyn brewing team under cover of secrecy and hidden from everyone else at the brewery. Supposedly, “Black Ops” was aged for four months in bourbon barrels, bottled flat, and re-fermented with Champagne yeast, creating big chocolate and coffee flavors with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak notes. They say it’s vanishingly rare. We have no idea what they’re talking about.
